Our website uses a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to run it and to take donations securely. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is stored on your browser or the hard drive of your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. This notice covers all of them.
Use of cookies
Websites can use four types of cookie. We use only the first.
Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that help prevent fraud when you make a donation, and cookies that let trustees and volunteers sign in to the secure admin area. Under Gibraltar law, these cookies do not need your consent.
Functionality cookies. These recognise you when you return to a website and remember your preferences. We do not use them.
Analytical or performance cookies. These recognise and count visitors and see how they move around a website. We do not use them, and we do not currently collect any visitor statistics.
Targeting cookies. These record your visit, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed, often for advertising. We do not use them, and we do not let social media or advertising companies track you on our website.
If we ever want to use cookies other than strictly necessary ones, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first. You will be able to accept or reject them as easily, and change your mind at any time.
Terminology to help you understand cookies
First and third-party cookies
First-party cookies are cookies set by our website, i.e. the website displayed in your URL window.
Third-party cookies are cookies that are set by a domain other than our website. The only third party that sets cookies when you use our website is Stripe, our payment provider, when you donate. Please see our cookies table for more information.
Session and persistent cookies
Session cookies are cookies which expire once you close your web browser. Persistent cookies are cookies which stay on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them. Please see our cookies table for more information.
Links to other websites
Our website links to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp and other websites. These are plain links, not embedded content. If you follow a link, that website's own cookie rules apply.
Cookies control and disabling cookies
You can refuse or delete cookies by changing the settings on your browser. However, if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of our website, such as the donation page and our forms, may not work.
The steps vary depending on the browser you use. If you have any questions, please use the Help function or consult the documentation for your browser.
